Subarctic copepod [Calanus finmarchicus]

Description
Calanus finmarchicus, known as the subarctic copepod, is a widespread copepod species in the North Atlantic and Arctic Oceans. It generally measures 2 to 4 mm, slightly larger than its Arctic cousin. It has a similar bright red color, but it is identified by its slightly larger size and the presence of a distinctive 'helmet' structure. This species is a significant food source for various marine species, particularly during its peak abundance periods in spring and summer.
