Striated Sponge [Myrmekioderma styx]

Description
This species is an encrusting sponge with a striated surface. It is usually orange in color and prefers to inhabit rocky substrates in areas with strong currents. It is typically found in deeper water, but can be found at depths of up to 60 meters. This species is known for its defensive behavior, secreting toxins to deter predators.
