Description
Asperarca crassiplicata, also known as the Stout Arca, is a marine bivalve species found in the Indo-Pacific region, specifically from East Africa to the central Pacific Ocean. Its preferred habitat is rocky bottoms at various depths. The Stout Arca is characterized by its large size and thick, heavy shells. The shells are equivalve but inequilateral, with the beaks in the anterior half. The exterior surface of the shell is sculptured with strong, rectangular radial ribs.
