Description
The Spotted Swimming Anemone, or Stomphia ocellata, is a species native to the Pacific Ocean, widely distributed from Alaska to California. This species is named for its unique spotted pattern, with its body color ranging from red to brown. It is known to live on rocky substrates and prefers colder waters. When disturbed, it can swim by bending and straightening its body.
