Spotted parrotfish [Paradiplogrammus punctatus]
Description
The Spotted parrotfish, Paradiplogrammus punctatus, is a vibrant species native to the Western Atlantic Ocean. This species is easily recognized by its spotted pattern and bright coloration. It inhabits coral reefs and seagrass beds and feeds mostly on algae. The species is known for its unique behaviour of creating a mucus cocoon to protect itself while sleeping.
