Spotted Batfish [Halieutaea lunulata]
Description
Spotted Batfish, or Halieutaea lunulata, is a species of anglerfish widely distributed in the Indo-Pacific region. They are typically found in deep, sandy or muddy substrates. The Spotted Batfish has a flattened body and a large, broad head. Its body is covered with small white spots on a dark background, and it has a distinctive, crescent-shaped marking on its tail, thus the name 'lunulata'.
