Description
Clithon corona, commonly known as the Spike-topped Apple Snail, is a species of freshwater snail with an operculum, a gastropod mollusk in the family Neritidae. The species has a remarkable shell with spiky protrusions, which is usually yellowish-brown in color. This snail is a largely herbivorous, grazing on algae and detritus in slow-moving freshwater habitats, such as rivers, streams, and rice fields. It is native to parts of Asia and has been introduced to other parts of the world.
