Description
The Southern venus is a species of bivalve mollusc in the family Veneridae, native to the Mediterranean Sea and the northeastern Atlantic Ocean. It inhabits sandy or muddy bottoms and is often found at depths between 5-50 meters. The shell is oval-shaped with strong radial ribs, similar to other species in the Chamelea genus. The color varies from white to yellow, often with brown or purplish streaks.
