Description
The Southern spinous lobster, also known as the South Atlantic spinous lobster, is a deep-sea species distributed in the Southern Ocean, primarily around the Antarctic convergence. It is characterized by its large size and numerous spines on its carapace and abdomen. This species inhabits depths between 280 and 1100 meters, preferring soft sediment habitats. Its diet primarily consists of detritus and small benthic invertebrates.
