Southern Ostracod [Microconchoecia australis]
Description
Microconchoecia australis is another species of small marine crustaceans in the family Halocyprididae. As its name suggests, it is typically found in the Southern Ocean. It has a similar appearance to M. intermedius, but can be differentiated by minor details in its morphology. Like other members of its genus, M. australis is a planktonic species.
