Southern Giant Clam [Tridacna derasa]

Description
The Southern Giant Clam is the second largest clam species, reaching up to 60 cm in length. It's found in the warm seas of Australia and Southeast Asia. It has a smooth shell surface and varies in color from cream to brown. Like other clams, it hosts symbiotic algae in its tissues, which provide nutrients through photosynthesis.
