Snowflake Coral [Anthelia glauca]
Description
Anthelia glauca, commonly known as Snowflake Coral, is found in the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean. This species is distinguished by its unique snowflake-like polyps which are usually white, giving the coral a snowy appearance. The polyps emerge from stolons and can retract into the stolon when disturbed. It can be found in a variety of habitats, including coral reefs, seagrass beds, and rocky or sandy bottoms, at depths of 1 to 30 meters.
