Smooth tellin [Tellina alta]

Description
The Smooth tellin or Tellina alta is a species of marine bivalve molluscs in the family Tellinidae. It is characterized by its smooth, oval shell which is usually white or light pink in color. Its habitat is typically in sandy, muddy substrates of the intertidal zone and shallow subtidal areas. It is a suspension feeder, filtering plankton from the surrounding water.
