Slender sea whip [Nicolea gracilis]

Description
Nicolea gracilis, known as the slender sea whip, is also a species of gorgonian native to the Indo-Pacific region. It is characterized by its delicate, whip-like structures and its bright pink color. It is found in deep water environments, often anchored in sandy substrates. Its slender branches are populated by numerous small polyps which feed on plankton. The slender sea whip is known for its bioluminescent properties, emitting light when disturbed.
