Description
The Slender Duckbill Eel, scientifically known as Syringothyas caudiculus, is a marine species that belongs to the Ophichthidae family. This eel predominantly inhabits the western Atlantic Ocean. It is characterized by its slender, elongated body, and a pointed snout resembling a duck's bill. Its coloration ranges from brown to greenish, with lighter underparts. This eel is usually found in sandy or muddy bottoms at depths of 15 to 73 meters. It is nocturnal, spending most of the day buried in the sediment and coming out to feed at night. The Slender Duckbill Eel primarily feeds on small benthic invertebrates.
