Description
The Shortnose Batfish, or Dolopichthys jubatus, is a species of batfish in the Ogcocephalidae family. This batfish species is endemic to the eastern Pacific Ocean, specifically ranging from the Gulf of California to Peru. The Shortnose Batfish is distinct due to its short rostrum and a relatively compressed body. It has a high dorsal fin and its color varies from brown to reddish-brown. Like other species in its genus, it's a benthic species that lives on the bottom of the ocean, typically found at depths between 25 and 500 meters.
