Scarlet king crab [Lithodes couesi]

Description
Scarlet king crabs are found in the Aleutian Islands to Baja California in Mexico. They are deep-water dwellers, found at depths between 150 and 450 meters. They are characterized by their bright red color and are smaller than other king crabs, with a maximum carapace width of 6 inches.
