Description
The Round Ribbontail Ray is a large species of stingray in the family Dasyatidae. It is found throughout the tropical Indian and Pacific Oceans, ranging from the Red Sea and East Africa to Micronesia and Polynesia. This species is most common near coral reefs, though it also inhabits the sandy flats and seagrass beds of lagoons. Its distinctive features include a thick, rounded body and large, projecting eyes.
