Ringed copepod [Leptocaris ringens]

Description
Leptocaris ringens, or the Ringed copepod, is another species within the Leptocaris genus. They are small, benthic crustaceans, usually found in marine and brackish environments. They are generally less than 2 mm in size. Their body is cylindrical and elongated, with a distinct ring pattern. They feed on organic detritus and microorganisms, playing a key role in the food web. Despite their small size, they are an important source of food for many larger marine species.
