Richardson's Pipefish [Repomucenus richardsonii]
Description
Named after the ichthyologist John Richardson, this pipefish species is native to the southwestern Pacific Ocean. Richardson's Pipefish are often found in seagrass beds and around rocky reefs. They have a slender, elongated body and a tubular snout, typically used for sucking up small prey. They are also known to change their color to blend in with their environment, making them difficult to spot.
