Red Gurnard [Chelidonichthys cuculus]
Description
The Red Gurnard is a medium-sized fish, usually reaching up to 35 cm in length. It has a distinctive red color and large, wing-like pectoral fins. This species is found in the northeastern Atlantic Ocean, from Norway to Morocco, and in the Mediterranean and Black Seas. It usually lives on sandy or muddy seabeds, at depths between 10 and 200 meters. It feeds primarily on crustaceans and small fish.
