Description
Clathria prolifera, commonly known as the Red Beard Sponge, is a species of demosponge that is bright red or pink in color, giving it its common name. It is widespread throughout the tropical waters of the western Atlantic Ocean. It is a filter feeder, consuming tiny particles of food that it filters out of the water.
