Description
The Rainbow Scallop, or Multirugose Scallop, is a species of scallop native to the Pacific coast of North America, from Alaska to Baja California. They are typically found in subtidal rocky habitats and are characterized by their thick, heavy shells with 14-18 deep ribs. The shell color varies from pink to purple with iridescent interior, giving the appearance of a rainbow.
