Description
Athorybia pygmaea, commonly known as the Pygmy Lanternfish, is a small species found in the eastern Pacific Ocean. They inhabit deep, tropical and subtropical waters, and display vertical migration behavior. The species is characterized by its small size, with adults typically less than 3 cm in length, and its bioluminescent photophores.
