Description
The Muricea purpurea, also known as the Purple Bushy Sea Fan, is found in the Eastern Tropical Pacific. The colonies of this species are bushy, erect, and can reach up to 1 meter in height. It is distinguishable by its purple coloration and its polyps that are mostly extended, giving the colony a spiny appearance.
