Polished Virrocone Snail [Vexillum (Costellaria) nitidum]

Description
The Polished Virrocone Snail is a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Costellariidae. Recognized by its shiny, cone-shaped shell, it generally measures between 20 and 50 mm. It inhabits the tropical Indo-Pacific region, typically residing in sand and rubble substrates at depths up to 50m. This species is nocturnal and buries itself in the sand during the daytime.
