Pile worm [Nereis grubei]

Description
Nereis grubei, or the pile worm, is a species native to the Pacific coast of North America. It is dark red-brown in color and can reach up to 30cm in length. This species usually inhabits sandy or muddy areas, particularly in estuaries. It is an omnivore and scavenger, feeding on a variety of organic matter.
