Pheronema carpenteri [Pheronema carpenteri Thomson, 1869]

Description
Pheronema carpenteri is a species within the Pheronema genus characterized by a cup-like shape and long, needle-like spicules. It is typically found in the North Atlantic in deep-sea environments, often on soft substrates. The species is named after Dr. William Benjamin Carpenter, a British physician, invertebrate zoologist and physiologist. Due to its deep-sea habitat, little is known about the behavior of Pheronema carpenteri.
