Peruvian chub mackerel [Scomber japonicus peruanus]
Description
The Peruvian chub mackerel is a pelagic fish found in the Eastern Pacific, from Baja California to Peru. It has a streamlined body, a pointed snout, and two dorsal fins. Its back is a dark steel-blue color, while its belly is silvery white. This species feeds on small fish and zooplankton. It is a migratory species and is also commercially fished.
