Peacock Sole [Microchirus azevia]
Description
The Peacock Sole is a species of flatfish in the family Soleidae. It can reach a maximum length of 60cm, but commonly it is about 30cm. It is found in subtropical waters in the eastern Atlantic Ocean from Portugal to Angola, including the Mediterranean Sea. It inhabits sandy or muddy bottoms and feeds on small invertebrates.
