Description
Thaumatichthys pagidostomus, commonly known as Paget’s Dragonfish, is a species of barbeled dragonfish. It inhabits the Atlantic Ocean, and is typically found at depths of 1,000 to 2,000 meters. This species is characterized by its large, upward-facing mouth, long barbel, and bioluminescent organs. Like other species of its genus, the Paget’s Dragonfish uses its bioluminescent capabilities for attracting prey and communication.
