Pacific Plicate [Mirapecten pacificus]

Description
The Pacific Plicate is a bivalve species native to the waters of the Pacific Ocean. Characteristic of the Plicate Trough Shells genus, it has a folded shell of a relatively small size, usually not exceeding 10 cm in length. The color of the shell can vary from light to dark brown. It thrives in sandy or muddy substrates.
