Description
The Pacific flatnose, Heliotrygon gomesi, is a species of freshwater stingray in the family Potamotrygonidae. It is found in the Pacific drainages of Colombia and Panama. This ray is characterized by its wide, flat body and a long, pointed snout. It is nocturnal, primarily feeding at night on small fish and invertebrates. The species exhibits a unique behavior of burying itself in sandy or muddy substrates during the day.
