Northern Sea Anemone [Sagartiogeton laceratus]

Description
The Northern Sea Anemone is a large, brightly coloured anemone that inhabits the intertidal and subtidal zones of the northern Atlantic Ocean. It has a large, cylindrical body that can reach up to 40cm in height and 10cm in diameter at the base. Its tentacles are long, slender, and typically a vibrant orange or red colour. They can retract into the body when the anemone is disturbed or exposed to air. It feeds on small fish and crustaceans that it captures with its tentacles.
