Moon Jelly [Aurelia aurita]

Description
The Moon Jelly is a common jellyfish species that can be found in every ocean. It has a translucent, saucer-shaped bell that is about 10-40 cm in diameter. The Moon Jelly has four crescent-shaped gonads that are easily seen through the top of the bell. It has a short, fine fringe (cilia) that sweeps food toward the mucous layer on the edges of the lobes. This species is known to have a mild sting.
