Description
The Nannocalanus minor is a species of copepod belonging to the family Clausocalanidae. They are found in oceans worldwide, primarily dwelling in the mesopelagic zone. This species is characterized by a small size, usually less than 1.5 mm in length. The females of this species have a unique characteristic of two large, elongated sacs extending from the rear of the body, which are used for carrying eggs. Their diet mainly consists of phytoplankton.
