Description
The Mauve False Cowry, also known as Neofibularia nolitangere, is a species of sea snail in the family Ovulidae. They are typically found in the Western Central Pacific, specifically in the waters around the Philippines, Indonesia, and Northern Australia. These marine gastropods have an elongated, cylindrical shell that is slightly inflated and covered in a thin, glossy periostracum. The shell displays a variety of colors, from pale pink or yellow to mauve or brown, with darker spots or blotches. They are usually found living on and feeding on various species of soft corals.
