Malagasy Heron [Ardea humbloti]
Description
The Malagasy Heron is a large heron species found only in Madagascar. It has a gray body, a white neck and head with a black cap, and a long, pointed yellow beak. It is found in a wide range of wetland habitats, but prefers shallow lakes and marshes. This species is non-migratory and is often observed hunting alone, feeding on fish, amphibians, and insects.
