Description

Maemonstrilla helgolandica is a marine species belonging to the family Monstrillidae. It was first described and discovered in the North Sea close to Helgoland. The species is a copepod with a size ranging from 0.7 to 1.2 mm. It is a free-swimming organism, usually found at shallow depths. Its distinguishing features include a transparent body with bright red pigmented patches and a distinctive antennule.
