Description
Leptognathia longicornis, commonly known as Longtail Tanaid, is a marine species found predominantly in the Atlantic Ocean. They are small in size, typically about 1-2mm long, and live in the sediment on the seabed. Their bodies are white or translucent, with long, slender appendages. They are detritivores, feeding on organic material found in the sediment. They have a unique reproductive behavior where the male carries the fertilized eggs until they hatch.
