Longsnout Poacher [Brachyopsis rostratus]

Description

A species of fish in the family Agonidae, the poachers. It is native to the northern Pacific Ocean, where it is distributed from the Sea of Okhotsk and the Kuril Islands of Russia to the Gulf of Alaska. This marine species is a bottom-dwelling fish found in sandy and muddy substrate in shallow waters, usually not deeper than 50 meters. The Longsnout Poacher is characterized by its elongated snout, rough skin, and body covered with bony plates.
