Longarm Fangtooth [Chaenophryne longiceps]
Description
This species is a deep-sea fish, found in the northern Atlantic Ocean at depths between 1,000 and 2,000 meters. They have short, stubby bodies with large heads, and are characterized by their long, arm-like pectoral fins and sharp, fang-like teeth. Females are known to be larger than males, and they are bioluminescent, producing light through an organ known as a photophore.
