Description
Penares euastrum, commonly known as Little Penares Sponge, is a species of marine sponge. It is found in the deep sea, usually attached to hard substrates such as rocks. It is characterized by its firm, globular shape and its surface is covered in small, conical spicules that give it a rough texture. The color of the sponge can vary from pale yellow to brown. This species feeds by filtering microscopic food particles out of the water.
