Description
Ichthyscopus leopardus, commonly known as the Leopard Sandfish, is a marine species native to the Indian Ocean. It is found in the waters off the coasts of Sri Lanka and India. This species is characterized by its unique leopard-like spots, which serve as a form of camouflage against predators. It inhabits sandy or muddy bottoms at depths of 20 to 60 meters. It is a nocturnal species, feeding mainly on small crustaceans and bony fish during the night.
