Leaping Mullet [Mugil saliens]
Description
The Leaping Mullet is native to the Eastern Atlantic and the Mediterranean Sea. It is characterized by a cylindrical body with silvery sides and a bluish back. It inhabits coastal waters, lagoons, and estuaries, and can occasionally be found in rivers. It feeds on algae and small invertebrates. The species is known for its ability to leap out of the water, hence its common name.
