Japanese Idothea [Synidotea laticauda]

Description
Synidotea laticauda, often referred to as the Japanese Idothea, is an isopod crustacean indigenous to the Northwest Pacific, specifically the waters surrounding Japan. It has a broad, flat body and can grow up to 30mm in length. Synidotea laticauda is characterized by its vivid green color and unique pattern of spots. It is often found in estuaries and coastal areas, feeding on organic detritus.
