Indian Pond Heron [Ardeola grayii]
Description
Also known as Paddybird, these herons are found in many parts of Indian subcontinent. They are usually seen in inland bodies of water and can be difficult to spot when they stand still at the water's edge, particularly during breeding season when they take on a more camouflaged hue. They primarily feed on fish, frogs, and insects.
