Hyalonema mirabile [Hyalonema mirabile]

Description
Hyalonema mirabile, or the 'Wonderful Glass Sponge', is found in the deep waters of the Pacific Ocean. Similar to other species in the Hyalonema genus, it has a globular body and a long stem made of spicules for anchoring itself to the sea floor. It filters feed by drawing water in through its pores, filtering out food particles, and expelling the filtered water.
