Hawaiian anchialine pool shrimp [Anchialina typica]

Description
The Hawaiian anchialine pool shrimp is a small, transparent, blind shrimp that lives in anchialine pools. These pools are landlocked bodies of water that have subterranean connections to the sea, often found in volcanic regions. The shrimp are detritivores, feeding on organic matter that settles to the bottom of the pools. They are distinguished by their lack of pigmentation and eyes, adaptations to their dark, underground habitats.
