Gulf Mantis Shrimp [Meiosquilla crenulata]
Description
This species is found in the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea. They prefer muddy or sandy bottoms, where they construct burrows. M. crenulata is known for its greenish-brown color and enlarged, powerful second pereiopods.
